Meet Baby Jack... Finally!

This is baby Jack (aka baby batman) He was born on Friday, the 13th of August at 8:24 am. He was 7 lbs and 19 inches long. He is beautiful and precious and we all love him so much :)

Yay!! We just had our ultrasound yesterday and we are having another little boy!! We couldn't be happier! It's so exciting to know Cam will have a little friend to grow up with. Him and Jared are SO excited :) I could have sworn it was a girl, only because this pregnancy is completely opposite my first one, but we were happy for the news of a boy. I am due August 22nd. The dead of summer :) We will see how I hold up :)

P.S. Camden already named the baby, his name is "Baby Batman." Cam is so cute, he will come up to my belly and say "hi Baby Batman!" And give him a big hug and a kiss. He will be such a good big brother.

It has been a while since I have posted anything. Things are finally starting to settle down...kinda. We have a new house (pics to come) Cam is in his terrible 2's ( a little early) but cuter than ever, and we are enjoying life. Here are just a bunch of random pics of summer.

Happy Anniversary!

It was our 4 year anniversary yesterday! We actually celebrated our anniversary last weekened. We finally, for the first time since cam was born, left him with my sister and stayed overnight at Anniversary Inn! ( i know its totally lame it took me this long to leave him.) It was SO nice to have a break. Its amazing what one night away can do. We went to a nice dinner and then to the REAL soccer game. It was a great night. I wish we could do that every weekened. I wish I had pictures. All our pics are in storage :( Happy Anniversary honey! Thanks for an amazing 4 years.

Camden, the artist

Cam is an artist.. Cam loves to draw. He could draw forever. He likes using stickers in his drawings too. I love watching him create his pictures. He is left handed and someone once told me, some of the best artists are left handed. I am hoping he is as talented as his dad. Don't you think, by looking at his creation, he is going to be a good artist?

We Are Moving!

Sorry we haven't been around for a while. We are getting ready to move and things are getting hectic. Yes, we may have finally sold our house! We will hopefully close at the end of the month, if all goes as planned. No, we have not found a house to move into yet so i guess we are living in my dads shop van! Honestly, we are not sure where we are going yet so we will see. We are really excited to move and be in a bigger place. Hopefully everything will work out!

WHAT!!

On Saturday, Jared and I had just put Camden in his crib for a morning nap. We could hear him on the monitor kinda playing around, which he always does before he falls asleep. All of a sudden we hear this weird commotion and then Cam burst into tears. I knew EXACTLY what had happened. I had this awful gut feeling about what had happened. I ran upstairs faster than I thought I could and opened his door and he was lying on the FLOOR under the computer desk! He had FALLEN OUT!! WHAT?? I picked him up and immediately did the whole body check to make sure he wasn't bleeding anywhere or had any broken bones. He was just fine. Just a little scratch on his leg. I burst into tears. My adrenaline had run out and I felt completely limp. I can not believe that happened! I am SO GREAT FULL that he was not hurt in any way. He was probably mostly scared. As was I. I KNOW for a fact that I am not the only one that this has happened to. At least I hope I'm not. PLEASE help me feel better and tell me I'm not just a bad mom.

Moab

So, the day after Thanksgiving we went to Moab with Jared's family. Everyone has Jeeps so they wanted to go "jeeping."We bought a backpack for Cam and went hiking. The backpack is our new favorite thing. Cam really liked it. Cam did really well but let me just say, Moab and "jeeping" is NOT a good place for a one year old. Needless to say it was not the much needed relaxing vacation I hoped it would be. We will just leave it at that :)

Camden in a Nutshell

I wanted to share with everyone some fun things about Cam, just so you can get to know him better.
- Cam is 1. If you ask him how old he is, he will put up 1 finger.
- Cam loves to play with hair. He always starts playing with his hair when he is tired.
- Cam loves my little sister Laurel. They are best friends.
- Cam gives squinty eye crusties to mom. He knows she doesn't like it when he does it so he does it more.
- Cam has very ticklish hands.
- Cam will burp on command and anytime you burp he will burp back.
- Cam does not crawl. He scoots and he is very fast.
- Cam loves kitties.
- Cam will not touch baby food and hasn't for a long time.
- Cam's favorite song is itsy bitsy spider. He even does the hand motions.
- Cam loves Spongebob.
- Cam LOVES his dad.
- Cam gives courtesy laughs. Just to make you feel good.
- Cam LOVES books.
- Cam loves mac and cheese and avocado.
- Cam can tell you where these body parts are: nose, mouth, ears, belly button and toes. He also will show you where his bugars are.
- Cam can tell you what these animals say: a cow, monkey, chicken, kitty, a snake, a lion, and a monster.
- Cam loves to wave and say bye bye.
- Cam still has no teeth.
- Cam loves bubbles
- Cam talks non stop.
- Cams nickname is buddy.
- Cam is very small for his age. He had been tested for kidney disease, cystic fibrosis, thyroid issues, anemia, and other nutrient issues. All the tests always come back normal. He is just kinda small now but has a big personality.
- Cam is the cutest little boy in the whole entire world and we love him!

I finally get to blog about my cute little buddy and all we have been up to. Just as a side note to those who asked about my surgery, I wish I could say I had a boob job or something fabulous like that but all it was was an umbilical hernia repair. Sounds SO stupid and embarrassing. I am fine now. Here are just a few ( ok alot) of pics of the pumpkin patch, Halloween and cams birthday. Camden loved his birthday party. Thank you to all who came and made it so fun. I honestly didn't think Cam would even touch his birthday cake but he loved it!

I am a slacker. A lot has happened in the last week or so and I haven't been able to post. Halloween, Cams 1st birthday. I have been out of commission. I had surgery last Wednesday and am just finally starting to feel better. Hopefully I can get my act together and post some way cute pics of Cam on Halloween and his birthday. See you soon!

Jared is Famous!!

If you ever watch the Nicktoons network you would know that they are having their annual animated short film festival. On Wednesday (Oct 29th) they aired one of the films that Jared worked on while attending BYU. The film is called "Pajama Gladiator." We were SO excited to see it aired on national television, even if it was only Nicktoons network. And yes, his name was there at the end of the film. I was so proud to see my husbands name on a film on tv. They are announcing the winners tonight, so I will keep you posted. Here is the link. I don't know how long it will work. It's a great film! We are officially trying to sell our townhouse! We are looking to move to Sandy but need to sell first. Get the word out and if anyone is interested I can email you pictures our you can come by. It is 1240 sq ft. It has 2 bedrooms and 1.5 baths. it has a HUGE master bedroom with jack and Jill sinks. Its in great condition! Its priced very reasonably.

Randy Pausch

If you haven't heard of Randy Pausch I highly recommend you look him up. He is a very inspirational man who passed away from incurable Pancreatic cancer this week. He was a professor who gave this amazing "last lecture " about "living you childhood dreams. " He appeared and gave a revise lecture on the Oprah show and has a book out called "The Last Lecture." This lecture is SO GOOD! I was very touched by it and it has made me look at life a little differently. Camping

We recently took Camden camping for the first time! We went to Smith and Morehouse with my family. I was really worried about it for some weird reason. Cam LOVED camping! He did so good. He was way warm. I was freezing. He slept almost better than he does at home. I didn't sleep at all. Needless to say, he did better than me this trip. Of course Cam loved being outdoors. He's a Monsen! Where's Camden?

Happy 3 Years!

Its hard to believe Jared and I have been married for 3 years! We were married on May 19th, 2005. Time has gone SO fast. We went to Cheesecake Factory for lunch. It was so amazing. I WILL be going back. Then we dropped Cam off at my parents for a few hours and went to a movie. So weird! We haven't been to a movie for like a year so it was a real treat. (Cam actually made it 3 hrs without mom! I was so excited. I have more freedom now!) I am so lucky to be married to such a wonderful husband. He is so good to put up with me and my raging mommy hormones. And now we have our hansom boy, Camden. I love you Honey!

A Tragic Day

On May 10th I lost a very dear friend of mine. Dr. Keith Hansen OB/GYN. I worked for him for 8 years before I had Camden. He was like a dad to me and he treated me like one of his daughters. I am grateful he was able to be apart of bringing my beautiful baby into the world. That meant a lot to me. We were very close and I am devastated to lose such an amazing man. He will be greatly miss by all who knew him. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. I know they are struggling. It was completely unexpected and shocking. My thoughts and prayers go out to the office of Dr. Hansen, Tanner and Smith. I know it has been extremely hard to lose such a giving, compassionate and loving man. It just won't be the same with out him around. His patients loved him. They were his passion. He was an incredible Doctor. I know he is with our Heavenly Father. I know he is happy. I hope that he knows how much he meant to me and how much I love him. I will miss him terribly. I will look forward to seeing him again and hope he watches over me while I am still on this earth.

I just wanted to let everyone know how amazing my mom is. My mom is smart and beautiful, generous, funny and loving. She is an amazing grandma! She has helped me so much with becoming a new mom. We have become very close. I love her and words just don't describe how I feel about her or how great she is. I am thankful every day for all she does for me and my family. Thanks Mom. We love you!

RSV

So my poor little Cam got the dreaded virus RSV. We were really lucky that it didn't get bad enough to put him in the hospital. It was still the worst and saddest thing ever. It started last Thursday with a cough and progressively got worse through the weekend. We took him to the Dr on Monday because he started wheezing and his chest was retracting. It was so scary. We ended up having to go back that evening for a deep suction treatment. That's where they stick tubes up his nose and down his throat to suck out mucous. It was so heartbreaking to watch. I never want to do that again. That night Jared and I slept on his bedroom floor because we were scared to leave him alone. He was up most of the night and when he did sleep I still didn't. We had to take him back to the Dr the next morning. He was worse and now had a fever and was wheezing even worse. They did a breathing treatment and then did the deep suction again. That's when we got the diagnosis of RSV. Cam was the most unhappy little man in the world. He was very sick. It has been a rough week but I think he is finally getting better. We are on day 8 and the Dr said hopefully it clears up by day 10. I was going to be the mom that prevented my kids from ever getting sick. Especially RSV. I have learned that no matter how hard you try to keep your kids away from sickness and germs, they are going to get sick. I can't protect him from everything all the time. I am just glad Cam is a tough little boy and that we were blessed to not have to be in the hospital. I'm glad we are over the worst of it. Finally, I can relax!!

Swedish Cam

Camden is getting big, he is almost 3 months now. He smiles a ton now and it is fun now that he has become more interactive. Jared is in his last semester of school and is extremely excited to graduate and be done. Amanda is doing great and loves being home with Camden... We hope to go to California in April to visit friends and take a vacation. Other than that not too much has changed just the usual stuff... until next time.

Right now we are in Draper, Utah, living the dream... (cough, cough) actually we are doing quite well though, just making the adjustment to our sleeping schedule now that Camden has arrived. Jared works for Disney right now making video games and he likes working for Disney a lot. He works in downtown Salt Lake at the Avalanche Software branch of Disney. He also graduates from BYU (boo, go Utes!) next semester with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Animation. Amanda is adjusting to the new job of full time motherhood, and is doing quite well. Camden pretty much does what babies do best, eat, poop and sleep... although he better figure out the sleeping through the night bit pretty darn quick! (where not holding our breath however) Other than that we are looking forward to the holidays and hope to see some of our friends that are scattered all over the place!

Hello everyone, this is our breakout into the blogging world, we start off with the most pressing matter at hand which is... Camden was born! November 1st at 1:07 a.m. , weighing in at a whopping 6 lbs 15oz and 19" long. Almost made the Halloween cutoff but not quite. Needless to say it was a crazy Halloween night but everything went very well and we couldn't be happier.
